Considering that we are living in an age where almost nothing can be truly classified as “original” or “never-been-done”, I find it refreshing to learn about contemporary artists who can use this to an advantage- someone who can take something so classic & put a new twist on it. Who am I talking about, you ask? Why, none other than UK singer, songwriter, as well as graphic novel creator, VV Brown! VV is not only an amazing vocalist, but she wrote her album on a guitar with only 1 string. Yes, you read that right, 1 STRING! Just 1! Talk about not letting something keep you down! How many of us can claim that? This alone has been a HUGE inspiration to me.
Something that really resounded to me, as a hopeless romantic, is that her music is very love-centric. She doesn’t just sing about the joys of love, she also touches on the pain of love. Anyone who has ever been in love or even truly loved knows this dichotomy all too well!
